Built in Nigeria, for Nigeria

The rate you see is the rate you get.

Sell BTC, ETH, USDT or USDC and the naira is in your balance in seconds. Sell an Amazon, Apple, iTunes, Google Play or Steam gift card and it follows once the card is checked. Send it to your bank, or spend it on airtime, data and light.

One sale, start to finish

  1. You pick the coin and the amount

The rate, the fee and the exact naira you will receive are on the confirm screen before you agree.

  2. You confirm with your PIN

Or your fingerprint, if your phone has a sensor. Nothing moves until you do this.

  3. The naira is yours

Send it to your bank account, or stay in the app and pay a bill with it.

How it works

Three steps, and you only do the first one once.

There are no trading pairs to learn and nobody to chase for your money afterwards. You sell to GenEx Pay, at the price on the screen.

  1. Sign up and verify

Create an account with your phone number and complete identity verification. It is the part nobody enjoys, so it happens once and then it is behind you.

  2. Sell your crypto

Choose BTC, ETH, USDT or USDC and the amount. The app locks a quote and shows you the rate, the fee and the naira figure. Confirm with your PIN or your fingerprint.

  3. Spend it or bank it

Withdraw the naira to your Nigerian bank account, or buy airtime, data, electricity and cable TV without leaving the app. Every transaction leaves a receipt.

Gift cards

Got a gift card you will never use? Sell it here.

Amazon, Apple, iTunes, Google Play and Steam cards in US dollars, paid in naira. Each brand has its own rate, and the naira your card is worth is on the screen before you send anything.

  1. Pick the brand and the value

Choose the card and enter its face value, from $10. The app shows the naira it is worth at the rate for that brand, before you go any further.

  2. Send the code

Type the code exactly as it appears on the card, and add a photo of the card if you have one. More than one card of the same brand goes in the same submission.

  3. We check it, then we pay

A person checks every card before any naira is paid. When it is approved, the naira lands in your balance. If it is not, the app tells you why.

That check is the one part of GenEx Pay that is not seconds, and it is there on purpose: a gift card is only worth something if it has not been used, and the only way to know is to look.

What you can pay

The bills everybody actually pays.

The naira does not have to leave the app first. When the light goes off and the meter is empty, the money is already where you need it.

  • Airtime

MTN, Airtel, Glo and 9mobile, topped up from your naira balance.

  • Data

Bundles for the same four networks, picked from a list rather than typed as a code.

  • Electricity

Buy power and the meter token comes back inside the receipt, where you can find it again.

  • Cable TV

Renew your subscription before the match, without opening another app.

  • Bank transfers in

Your own naira account number, so you can fund the balance from any Nigerian bank.

The token is in the receipt, not in a text message you lost.

Prepaid electricity is the payment people most often have to make twice, because the token arrived by SMS and the SMS is gone. GenEx Pay keeps the token on the receipt in your transaction history, with the reference, the amount and the time.

Every other payment gets the same treatment: what you paid, what it cost, and whether it was delivered. When the company on the other end is slow, the app says pending. It does not say done.

Security

Six things that are true before you send a kobo.

Not adjectives. This is what the app does with your money, and what it cannot do with it.

Nothing moves without your PIN

Every sale, every withdrawal and every bill payment stops for your transaction PIN. On a phone with a fingerprint or face sensor, that works instead. A stolen unlocked phone still cannot spend your balance.

Verified accounts only

Identity verification runs before an account can sell anything. It is the check that keeps borrowed accounts and stolen phones out of the system, and it is why a payout can go to a bank account in your own name.

Your own account number

You get a dedicated naira account number, issued through a licensed Nigerian payment company. Money you transfer in arrives at your account, not into a shared wallet you have to prove you paid.

A price you saw first

Prices move in the app, but your quote does not move under you. The rate, the fee and the naira total sit on the confirm screen. If the number is not one you like, you do not confirm.

Pending means pending

Banks and the companies behind your bills have slow minutes. When one of them does, the app shows the transaction as pending and keeps chasing it. It does not mark a payment delivered on the hope that it was.

Naira ends up at your bank

GenEx Pay is not a bank and does not pretend to be one. The balance is there so you can spend it, and whatever you do not spend goes out to a Nigerian bank account you control.

Get GenEx Pay.

Install it, verify once, and the next time you need to turn coin into light and data it takes a minute. Free to download, free to open an account.

Questions

The questions people ask before they install.

Is my money safe?

GenEx Pay is not a bank, and your naira does not have to sit with us. It stays in your balance only as long as you leave it there, and you can send it out to a Nigerian bank account in your own name whenever you want.

Inside the app, every movement of money stops for your transaction PIN or your fingerprint, and no account can sell anything until it has passed identity verification. Every transaction leaves a receipt with a reference you can quote to support.

How fast is "seconds", honestly?

A sale is priced and paid into your GenEx Pay balance the moment you confirm it. That part is genuinely seconds, because you are selling to us. There is no other trader to wait for.

After that you are dealing with somebody else's network: your bank for a withdrawal, your electricity company for a token. Those are usually seconds too, and sometimes they are not. The app shows the transaction as pending until the other side confirms, rather than telling you it is done.

What does it cost?

Downloading the app and opening an account cost nothing, and there is no monthly fee.

A sale has a rate and a fee, and both are printed on the confirm screen with the exact naira you will receive, before you agree to anything. Bill payments show the amount you are paying before you pay it. Nothing is deducted that you did not see first.

Is GenEx Pay licensed?

GenEx Pay is not a bank and does not hold a banking licence. Your naira account number and your bank payouts are provided through licensed Nigerian payment partners, and every account goes through identity verification before it can sell.

If you want the specifics, email support and ask. We will tell you exactly which permissions sit where.

Which coins can I sell?

Bitcoin, Ether, USDT and USDC. You sell them to GenEx Pay for naira. There is no buying, no borrowing to trade with, and nothing that can be sold out from under you.

Which gift cards can I sell?

Amazon, Apple, iTunes, Google Play and Steam, all US dollar cards, from $10. Each brand has its own rate, printed in the app before you submit, and the list in the app is always the current one.

How long does a gift card take?

Longer than a crypto sale, because a person checks every card. You can watch the status in the app: submitted, then approved and paid, or rejected with the reason.

No naira is paid until the card is approved, and nothing is taken from you if it is not. The code you sent is kept encrypted the whole time.

Is there a website I can log into?

No. GenEx Pay is a phone app, and there is no web version at all. That matters for your safety.

So if you find a GenEx Pay login page on the web, it is not us. This page is marketing only. It never asks you to sign in, and the only places to install the app are the two store links above.

What do I need to sign up?

A phone, a Nigerian phone number, one form of ID for verification, and a bank account in your own name for withdrawals. Setting a transaction PIN is part of the sign-up, and you can add your fingerprint afterwards.

Something went wrong with a payment. What now?

Open the transaction in your history and quote its reference to support. That reference is the same one we use on our side, so nobody has to reconstruct what happened from a description. Support answers by email at support@genxpay.com.ng.
